Lincoln schooled actor Sir John Hurt, famous for his roles in Alien and Harry Potter, has died at the age of 77.

The actor attended what is now Lincoln Christ’s hospital school from 1952-1957, before studying at Grimsby Art School and St Martins College, London.

In 2015, he had treatment for pancreatic cancer, but still continued to act. Hurt played a part in recently released film Jackie, about President John F. Kennedy’s wife.
